Job Description - Member Service Rep II

Basic Function

Serve as a liaison between the member and the Credit Union. Position is responsible for providing account information and professionally handling the member's financial needs. Refer and cross sell DPS Credit Union's products and services as well as provide a variety of transaction services to members. Perform all duties and responsibilities within the DPS Credit Union's policies and procedures as well as state/federal regulations.


Responsible for providing prompt, professional, helpful, knowledgeable and courteous member service

Perform member transactions including (not limited to): deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, check cashing, and issue of official checks

Ensure cash and other negotiable instruments are handled properly

Office opening, closing and balancing procedures

Log night drop and process

Processing and mailing daily notices

Balance cash drawer at the end of the day and compare totaled amounts to computer-generated proof sheet. Report any discrepancies to the supervisor as necessary

Scan checks and daily work on a daily basis

Daily shredding of all confidential information

Open all types of new accounts, cross sell credit union services and add new relationships to existing accounts

Counsel current and prospective members about the products and services offered by DPSFCU

Identify opportunities to cross service products and increase product penetration

Closing of member accounts

Member account maintenance

Member check orders

Incoming and outgoing member wires

Assist members with the consumer loan application process, gather required information when possible and forward to Lending Dept. for underwriting. Line of Credit advances

Answering the phone

Check CU email on a consistent basis throughout the day. Receive and process member service requests

Respond to all inquiries and requests from members in person or via email/telephone

Analyze, research and resolve problems and discrepancies related to member accounts/loans

Understand and comply with federal and other regulations relating to financial products and services

Report malfunctions of teller terminals and other equipment used at the teller station to supervisor

Periodic review of DPSFCU Policies and Procedures

Attend training and employee meetings as required

Perform other duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour
